Things to Know About TCM Cancer Treatment

Cancer is a stubborn disease; it has causes and conditions; it has its own laws of arising and developing. The Huan-Yuan Jing-Shen (Restore-and-Cleanse) method takes hold of cancer's developmental features and follows them. It requires close cooperation among doctor, patient, and family to change the conditions of cancer's survival and growth — checking malignancy's advance and turning toward the body's normal running. Huan-Yuan (restoration) lets cancer cells, in the regeneration of embryo and tissue, reverse-grow into normal cells. Jing-Shen (cleansing) sends necrotic cancer cells that cannot be restored out of the body — via every channel by which body and outside connect: sweat, tears, mucus, cough, vomiting, stool, diarrhea.

The doctor's duty

Wholeheartedly think for the patient. For early- and mid-stage cases, and late-stage cases of fair constitution, aim to remove tumor and seek complete cure — accurate, timely, full-dose medicine. For very late-stage cases or those greatly weakened after radiation/chemo, aim to lift quality of life, prolong life, ease suffering, lift physiological function — pursuing survival with tumor — and work to reduce signs and check malignant spread.

The patient's duty

Through every detail of life, cooperate closely with treatment.

1. Hold a healthy, optimistic state. Tian-dan, xu-wu — settled and empty, peaceful and gentle — set the will to fight, do not anger, worry, or be hasty.

2. Reasonable daily routine: sleep early, rise early, walk slowly. Do not over-indulge or over-strain. Avoid wind, rain, cold, summer-heat; prevent colds. Spend time outdoors in fresh, oxygen-rich daylight. Build sound life-routine.

3. Mind diet. Do not over-eat or starve.

- Cut back: nutritional drinks, processed foods with coloring, flavoring, preservatives.
- Avoid: seafood, soft-shell turtle, scaleless fish, pork, pickled / smoked / grilled foods, over-salty foods; mung bean, tea, sweetened drinks, tobacco, alcohol, cold and raw fruit; chili and pepper-powder seasoning.
- Eat well: grains, freshly-cooked vegetables, milk, eggs, chicken, beef, mutton; scallion, ginger as seasoning are fine.

4. Take medicine strictly on schedule. Report condition accurately. Respond properly to changes during treatment; contact the doctor in time.

5. Do not take other treatments concurrently — only the complication / comorbidity medicines necessary. With special needs, contact the doctor.

The family's duty

Understand cancer's features properly. Create a good treatment environment. Cooperate with the doctor actively; help the patient build confidence; solve diet and life problems; serve as bridge between doctor and patient.

A note

Huan-Yuan Jing-Shen therapy of cancer is a process of quantitative-into-qualitative change. To reverse cancer cells into normal cells takes time. From lowering malignancy to making the cells normal again depends on the patient's constitution, drug absorption, and cooperation — varies case by case. In cleansing: some patients are calm; some excrete necrotic cancer-tissue as invisible gas — burps, coughs, sneezes, flatulence; some as visible matter — mucus, sputum, sweat, vomit, diarrhea; some pass dark-purple clots, black stool, putrid flesh, or clear / turbid sticky fluid. (Cancer tissue is rich in blood; so when necrotic cells slough, blood cells may appear in the stool — do not panic, so long as it is not fresh-red blood.) Some patients, as necrotic flesh sloughs, may briefly block the channels and feel abdominal distension or pain — once it passes, the symptom eases on its own. After medicine: so long as the spirit improves, appetite rises, sleep is better, stool and urine go well — the herbs are working. Hold on.
