Inner Mongolia's Mongolian Medicine
Inner Mongolia is the principal base of Mongolian medicine in China. Across the autonomous region there are 89 banner- or county-level Chinese-Mongolian medical hospitals (research institutes), including 3 institutions of higher Mongolian-medicine education and 6 Chinese-Mongolian medical research institutes. Personnel in Mongolian medicine total 4,777, of whom only 180 hold senior-level technical titles and 896 hold mid-level titles. Seven enterprises in the region produce Mongolian medicines; the Inner Mongolia Chinese-Mongolian Medical Hospital houses the national Mongolian-medicine compounding center.
